Relays
Relays and contactors are devices designed for the purpose of controlling or interrupting the flow of electrical current in one or more circuits. They achieve this by utilizing a control signal that is electrically isolated from the circuit(s) being controlled. These devices are categorized into various subgroups based on their construction or intended application. Traditionally, and still commonly, they operate by utilizing an electromagnet to open or close a set of mechanical switch contacts. However, newer devices using solid-state technologies are also readily available. Both types have distinct characteristics that make them suitable for different application conditions.
